Project 1. A short biography of an activist who teaches children from Kumeyaay reservations how to surf. While Sophia Uribe grew up on what is now a Kumeyaay reservation, she is Huichol-Wixárika, meaning her native descent is from Nayarit, Mexico. These interviews aimed to explore how concepts of indigeneity function on/around the San Diego coastline.
